Our annual charitable dinner event with auctions and live music will be held at MacRay Harbor in Harrison Township on Friday,
August 23, 2013.

the Capuchin Soup Kitchen of Detroit.
Capuchin Soup Kitchen Facts:
The Capuchin Soup Kitchen opened its doors in 1929, with friars
feeding lines of people left hungry by the Great Depression. Service has continued, daily serving an average of 2000 meals at two
locations – Meldrum and Conner Street kitchens.
~ Capuchin Services Center provides 200-250 emergency supplemental food packages daily to families and seniors in need. Each
pack containing 80 pounds of dried and canned goods, meat and fresh produce - totaling nearly 300,000 pounds of food per month.
~
30,000 articles of clothing and 500 pieces of furniture are donated monthly.
~ Clothing items are sorted and hung on racks for
clients "to shop" by self-selecting needed items.
~ Victims of fire or other disaster and those coming out of a situation
of homelessness are provided furniture and appliances.
